'Twas the week before Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas

‘Twas the week before Christmas and all through the store,
Not a rack rumbler was stirring, not even a Moore.
The apparel was hung on the racks with great care,
In hopes that customers soon would be there.

The sales associates were nestled all snug in their spots,
While visions of closing the sale danced around like dots
And Tim over in tennis, and everyone else in their place,
Had just settled their brains for a long selling race.

When out in the parking lot, there arose such a clatter,
We sprang from our spots to see what was the matter,
Away to the front door we all flew like a flash,
Tore open the air lock and locked up all the cash.

The glare on the parking lot from the brightly shining sun,
Gave the luster of mid-day to all the shoppers on the run,
When what to our wondering eyes should appear
But a mini-van and an entourage following near,
With shoppers young and old,
We knew in a moment it was time for our inventory to be sold.

More rapid than shoppers in years past, they came,
They hopped and skipped and called us by name,
Now Kim! Now Pat! Now Jeffrey and Mary!
On Brodie! On Kayla! On Christi and Terri!
To the top of the landing! To the top of the wall!
Now shop away, shop away, shop away all!

As sale prices drop before the wild frenzy fly,
When they meet with a bargain, mount to the buy
So onto the sales floor the shoppers they flew,
With arms full of clothing and equipment too.

And then in a twinkling we heard all the proof
The joy and laughter of each happy customer to the top of the roof.
As we drew in our heads and were turning around
To the front register came more customers with a bound.

They were dressed all in garnet and black from head to feet,
Their clothes were all garnished with Cocky for the meet
Bundles of spirit wear they had flung on their backs,
And they looked like ultimate fans just opening their packs.

Their eyes how they twinkled! Their dimples, how merry!
Their cheeks were like roses, their noses like a cherry!
Their smiling mouths were drawn up like a bow,
As they were still happy beating Clemson three years in a row.

The joy of a ten win season still fresh in their minds
They laughed and joked that it takes all kinds.
Some of their family members support other schools,
But our Todd & Moore customers are no fools.

They are happy and proud, right jolly old fans,
We smiled as we helped them, in spite of the plans
A swipe of their cards and a nodding of their heads
Soon gave us to know we had nothing to dread
We thanked them and kept straight to our work
And filled all their bags, then turned with a jerk.

And picking up their purchases, they headed for the door
And thanking us so kindly, they left our great store
They sprang to their cars, to their remotes gave a beep,
And away they all drove with their purchases in a heap.

As they drove out of sight, we heard them roar:
Merry Christmas to all,
And thanks for being our specialist in sports since 1944!

*Many thanks to our wonderful customers who support us and help us continue to be the BEST sporting goods store in the Midlands!
