In 1972 while a student at USC, Tim Robertson walked in Todd & Moore to apply for a job because of his passion for tennis. Mr. Charlie Todd and Mr. George Moore not only gave him an opportunity to earn money during college, but the opportunity to learn the sporting goods business that has been Tim’s career for over 38 years. An added bonus was meeting his wife, Robin Todd Robertson!

Tim has seen tennis participation increase dramatically since the late seventies and eighties because of high visibility on television, “open” tennis and the development of league tennis. Todd & Moore has aggressively pursued that business with selection and excellent customer service.

We have the largest and best selection of racquets, bags, accessories, balls, and apparel in the Midlands from name brands such as Wilson, Prince, Head, Babolat, Gamma, Under Armour, Adidas, Fila and K-Swiss. We carry pre-strung and un-strung racquets ranging in price from $79 to $300 and offer stringing in 24 hours or less. We also carry youth sized racquets and a wide variety of grips, training aides, and dampeners.

Tim highly recommends “try before you buy” with our Tennis racquet demo program. Our demo program costs $2.00 per day, per racquet and is credited back to the customer if a racquet is purchased within 30 days. We urge customers to try the racquets to avoid spending $200.00 on a racquet they may not enjoy. It is the best way to make a smart purchase.

And of course, Tim and his staff are on hand Monday through Saturday at our downtown location to give advice on the different brands and types of racquets we carry. Having been in the industry for 38 plus years, Tim has seen the many improvements in technology as a buyer of tennis products and as a tennis player himself. He feels one of the biggest impacts on recreational tennis, is the creation and development of carbon graphite racquets. The vast majority of players would find the game too frustrating with wooden racquets.
