Back To School, Tax Free Holiday Weekend

I have registered both of my children for school this week, paid their school and athletic participation fees, put money on their lunch cards, joined the PTA and the Athletic Booster Club, bought tickets for the Annual Wildcat Night fundraiser, and I still need to buy back-to-school clothes, shoes, and supplies.

I need a break. Not just physically, but financially! Forget the National Debt, I’m talking back-to-school budgeting as in I don’t want to go into to debt for my kids to start school! What’s a mom to do?

I suggest shopping locally for back-to-school clothes, shoes, and supplies this Friday, August 5 starting at 12:01 am through Sunday, August 7 at midnight. It’s a great opportunity to save the 6% SC state sales and use tax, plus any applicable local sales and use taxes. So at Todd & Moore, that means you save and additional 7% off of our already low prices. And when you are buying for two or more kids, 7% adds up!

We can help you get your children ready and prepared for back to school or college with many of the things they need that are on the tax exempt list:

• All clothing & accessories that include but are not limited to Under Armour & Nike aerobic/workout clothing, sports uniforms, Speedo swimsuits, baseball & football belts, blankets, Merrell hiking boots, Champion jogbras, New Era caps, high school letter jackets, batting gloves, ponchos, Frogg Toggs rainwear, Rollerblade skates, footwear, socks, sweats, sweatbands, ties/neckwear, t-shirts, and umbrellas.

The following items are not tax exempt:

• Clocks, eyewear including sunglasses, goggles, masks, golf clubs, helmets, mitts, shin guards, shoulder pads, and sporting goods equipment in general.

We don’t make the rules folks, we just follow them. So come see us on Friday and Saturday at both our Huger Street and O’Neil Court locations and on Sunday from 1-6 pm at our O’Neil Court location. We can save you money.
